Micheal Ballaban is right, and yet he's...uhh...still right.

I still think the new Impreza is better-looking than the one you can currently find in showrooms if only because that one wasn’t exactly exciting to look at either. At least the new one looks as if it hugs the road better and is better “haunched” with character lines adding...um, character by virtue of having no character previously extant....

With high roof lines, proportions that emphasize large prominent fascia features that when combined with the vestiges of 2010-2014 phase caricaturized wheel arches make the front seem shorter than it is, and slab sides and lines that look like the designers were limited to what could be held inside pocket protectors, the now-outgoing cars look bland needless to day. The sedan looks like, as Mike says, a Corolla. What’s supposed to be a daily driver with hot-hatch attitude looks like...oh, I’m just gonna say it. It looks like a friggin’ Caliber.

Yeah the new cars look like an improvement if nothing else because there’s nowhere else to go but up. People may criticize the looks of the ‘04s for looking like they’re auditioning for the Wachowsky sibling’s Speed Racer but I agree with Ballaban they were the best looking because they at least tried to look the part.

Subaru has me thinking they are not actually releasing new cars. Both this and the current legacy/ outback look share so many styling cues with the previous generations I am convinced they are just really aggressive face lifts.

Styling has never been a Subaru strong point, but the new cars don’t look bad, and if we’re going to be honest, they look a lot better than a Corolla.

Also the trunk on the new hatchback looks like a Ford C-max

the Impreza is just a corolla with AWD. This does not apply to the WRX.

The way I look at it: it looks better than the previous Impreza, therefor the next WRX/STi will look better, too.

Hopefully.

I think it's a good looking car. But yeah, Subaru might have set the expectations to high when they had that WRX concept awhile back.
